Year level specific programs
During the year, each student becomes a member of the Boarding House for three weeks. This experience increases students’ self-reliance and resilience as they meet the challenges of a new situation interacting with a wide range of students of various ages and cultural backgrounds.
Education in the Outdoors
All Year 8 students will undertake a trip to Northern Queensland.
This is an Outdoor Education experience that is esssential preparation for the Journey Program held later in the year.
All students in Year 9 have a three-week residential experience in Vietnam including community service, cultural experiences and war history.
This is a ten-day Outdoor Education experience held at the end of November at the conclusion of the Year 9 exams. There are different destinations which are ranked according to a student's ability and confidence.
All Year 10 students participate in the Horizons Program, held late in November at the conclusion of their examinations. There are a range of options available, including: sailing, abseiling, canoing and an overseas experience working in Laos and India.
All Year 11 students undertake a residential experience at International House, the University of Melbourne, at the end of November following the conclusion of their examinations. This is designed to prepare students for Year 12 and the pathway to tertiary education.
